Texas quarterback Arch Manning conducted a postgame interview with ESPN reporter Holly Rowe on Saturday, following the Longhorns' 20-17 victory over No. 14 Tennessee at Neyland Stadium.
Manning was asked by Rowe about the significance of the win, which was a hard-fought effort for the No. 1 ranked team. "It was fun," Manning replied. "I thought they battled the whole time. Shout out to our defense. Colin Simmons, that's a real player right there."
Rowe then inquired about the importance of winning at Neyland Stadium, where Manning's uncle Peyton became a college football legend. Manning downplayed the significance, stating "It's not about me. I didn't play very well, but our team played great. Defense played well. SEC road win, that's what it's all about."
The interview was notable for taking place just over a week after Manning apologized for calling an AI-generated video that depicted Rowe being slapped "hilarious." Manning had been criticized for his comment, which was made during a press conference following the Longhorns' previous game against Ohio State.
The exchange between Manning and Rowe was generally seen as cordial, with some praising the tone of the interview despite the controversy surrounding it.
