Hunter Mahan, a six-time winner on the PGA Tour, has been exploring his options in golf since stepping away from the professional circuit in 2021. The former Oklahoma State standout cited burnout as the reason for his departure, but has since been enjoying the "dad life" at home and coaching high school golf.
However, Mahan has recently started to pick up the clubs again, albeit in a different capacity. He has been posting videos of his own journey back into the game, instructional content, and other golf-related material on social media. His Instagram following has grown to over 55,000.
Mahan's wife encouraged him to start playing more golf, which led to the creation of his content. He was surprised by the positive response from his fans, which has been overwhelming. The former professional is now considering his options, including potentially competing on the PGA Tour Champions.
Mahan would have immediate eligibility to compete on the senior circuit once he turns 50, given his six PGA Tour wins. He has a little over five years to make a decision, and is currently exploring all possibilities.
