The Haas Factory Team will add a third car to its lineup for the 2027 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series schedule, signing Dean Thompson to drive it. Thompson, who is currently competing in his second full-time season with Sam Hunt Racing, has signed a multi-year deal with Haas.
Thompson's new team will be sponsored by Thompson Pipe Group and MCM Transportation, but the car number and crew chief have not yet been announced. The 24-year-old driver from California has shown strong progression throughout his time in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, with one top five and ten top tens in 57 career starts.
"We're excited to welcome Dean to Haas Factory Team," said Joe Custer, President of Haas Factory Team. "He has shown strong progression throughout his time in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and we believe he will compete at the highest level."
Thompson currently competes with Sam Hunt Racing, where he has not yet achieved a win but has shown consistent top ten finishes. He also has experience in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, with 70 starts and two top fives and eleven top tens.
The addition of Thompson to Haas Factory Team is seen as a step up for the driver, who will be competing for wins and a championship with support from his new sponsors.
