Mobile phone users can now easily extract a single frame from a video and save it as a separate photo, without the need for a screenshot. This feature is available on Apple's iOS 27, as well as on Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices.

On an iPhone, users can access the "Save Video Frame as Photo" option within the Photos app. This allows them to pause the video at a specific moment and save the frame as a separate image. The saved photo can be found in the Photos app under the "Saved Today" section.

Samsung Galaxy phones also offer a similar tool, which can be accessed through the Gallery app. Once a moment is selected, users can capture the frame as a photo. However, it's worth noting that menus and settings may vary depending on the specific Galaxy model, software version, and region.

Google Pixel owners can use the "Export frame" feature within Google Photos to extract a still image from a video. This feature may require an extra tap to access, depending on the version of Google Photos being used. The exported image can be found in the main Google Photos screen or in the relevant album.

While taking a screenshot can still achieve a similar result, using the built-in frame tool provides a dedicated photo created from the selected moment, making the process easier and more efficient.
