'Outsider' House primary winner sets sights on flipping longtime GOP seat back from Dems: 'Ready for a change'
GOP House hopeful says Michigan voters are ‘ready for a change’

Terri DeBoer, a veteran meteorologist and Congressional candidate, has expressed her readiness to flip the state's Third Congressional District back over to the GOP after winning the Republican primary.

According to DeBoer, voters in the district are seeking change. "The one thing that we're really hearing over and over again is people are ready for a change," she said. She believes that her bid to unseat incumbent Democratic Representative Hillary Scholten will bring about this change by providing representation that aligns with the common sense values of West Michigan.

DeBoer's campaign is built on the idea that the Democratic Party has strayed from its core values and is now aligned with candidates who undermine what "makes America so great." She also expressed skepticism about the growing support for a progressive agenda within the Democratic Party, citing Abdul El-Sayed's Senate primary victory as an example.

DeBoer has criticized Scholten's voting record in Congress, stating that it does not align with her moderate image on the campaign trail. Scholten voted against the SAVE America Act and supported bills that allow transgender women to compete in female school sports teams, according to DeBoer.

The most pressing concern driving the race, according to DeBoer, is affordability. She believes that cutting federal spending, eliminating government waste, fraud, and abuse will help address rising costs of groceries, energy, housing, and healthcare. Her campaign website lists securing the border, expanding healthcare choice, supporting reliable energy, and reducing regulations on small businesses as her priorities.

Fox News Digital attempted to reach out to Scholten's campaign for comment but did not receive a response.
