Roman Reigns successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Penta in a highly competitive match on Monday Night Raw. Penta, who had won a No. 1 contender tournament, was challenging Reigns for the title and had the support of the Mexican crowd. The match was one of the best of the year, with both wrestlers giving it their all.

Reigns, who has been successfully defending his title against various opponents since winning it at WrestleMania 42, let Penta come to him for most of the match. However, Penta's momentum shifted after he performed The Sacrifice on Reigns' right arm, which left Reigns temporarily hindered. Despite this, Reigns persevered and managed to kick out of several high-impact moves.

In the end, Reigns connected with a spear and pinned Penta to secure the win. The crowd in Mexico City was visibly disappointed, but Reigns' next opponent, LA Knight, made a statement immediately after the match. Knight walked to the ring, and Reigns, still in the ring, was hit with a BFT by Knight. This sets up a showdown between the two at Money in the Bank on October 10.

Raw general manager Adam Pearce made it official on Tuesday that LA Knight will be facing Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank. Reigns, in a post-match interview, sent a message to Knight, expressing his willingness to defend his title and warning Knight that he will be defeated in New Orleans.
