Six people, including a suspected gunman, have died in rural Missaukee County, Michigan, following a multi-scene shooting. The incident occurred on Friday morning when officers from the Michigan State Police began investigating a shooting that had been reported just before noon.
According to authorities, three people were found dead and another was wounded at a home near LaChance Road and Kelly Road in Richland Township. A fourth person was later discovered dead in another nearby residence. The victims' identities have not yet been released, pending notification of their families.
State police had issued a warning earlier on Friday, urging the public to be on the lookout for Chad Hickman, 39, who was described as "armed and dangerous." His car was spotted near a wooded area where his body and that of another victim were subsequently found. Police have confirmed that there is no ongoing danger to the public.
Michigan State Police Public Information Officer Lt. Ashley Miller stated that the community is struggling with the aftermath of this tragic event, adding that an investigation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the shootings.
