Aaron Judge, the three-time MVP of the New York Yankees, is optimistic about being ready for the team's Wild Card series next week despite suffering a calf injury. In an interview with ESPN, Judge stated that his plan is to get his body ready to play in Game 1 of the series, which begins on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium against a to-be-determined opponent from the American League.

Judge was placed on the injured list on Saturday after suffering a right calf strain, which he described as a soleus muscle strain. He emphasized the importance of this muscle for running and hitting, two key skills for the Yankees to succeed in the postseason. Judge has received a Platelet-Poor Plasma (PPP) injection in his calf and is waiting for clearance to resume baseball activities involving his leg.

However, Yankees manager Aaron Boone expressed a different view on Tuesday, stating that the team is planning for Judge not to be a part of the Wild Card series. While Boone hasn't ruled Judge out officially, the team still has time to finalize its roster. If Judge isn't on the Wild Card roster, he won't be eligible to play until the American League Division Series (ALDS), which occurs if the Yankees win the best-of-three series.

Judge acknowledged that he has had discussions with team officials about his injury and the team's plans, but declined to provide further details. He emphasized that he is committed to playing and helping the team win games, saying "I'm getting paid to play games for the New York Yankees, so I'll get back as soon as I can."
