Florida drops impressive offensive performance to pull off massive win over No. 4 Ole Miss

The Florida Gators defeated the No. 4 Ole Miss Rebels in a closely contested game at the Swamp in Gainesville, Florida. The intensity of the game was high, with both teams having previously faced off against their former coach Lane Kiffin and LSU. However, it was Florida that came out strong in the early going, with running back Jadan Baugh scoring a short run to the end zone and kicker Patrick Durkin adding an extra point and a field goal later in the quarter.

Ole Miss finally got on the board with two field goals, but Baugh's second rushing touchdown gave the Gators a 17-6 lead at halftime. The second half saw the offense heat up, with Ole Miss signal caller Trinidad Chambliss scoring a rushing touchdown on the team's first drive of the half. However, Florida answered back with a rushing touchdown from running back Duke Clark.

The ground game was a major factor in the game, with Florida posting 302 rushing yards and both Baugh and Clark rushing for over 100 yards apiece. This marked the first time two Gators had achieved this feat in the same game since 2022. Florida led the entire game and pulled away in the fourth quarter, securing a significant win over a top-5 team.

The Gators' offense has been impressive this season, with more than 50 points scored in all but one game. This win will likely shake up the rankings, as Florida had not beaten a top-5 team since 2020. The Gators will next face the No. 19 Missouri Tigers, while Ole Miss will look to bounce back against Vanderbilt in a couple of weeks.
