A mass shooting occurred on Saturday evening in Lexington, Kentucky, resulting in one fatality and four injuries during a live band performance at Charles Young Park. The shooting took place approximately a mile away from an event where Governor Andy Beshear was attending a dinner for the Kentucky Democratic Party.

According to authorities, two of the injured victims were children aged 14 and 4 years old, while the other two individuals were adults. All four were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Governor Beshear addressed his event attendees shortly after learning of the shooting, stating that there had been five people injured and one deceased in the incident. He assured diners that the situation had been resolved and expressed concern for public safety.

Lexington Police Chief Lawrence Weathers held a press conference on Sunday morning, revealing that no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting as of then. However, he emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The chief also urged community members to report any concerns about individuals who may be inclined to use a weapon.
